A friend is going to court to seek damages in a medical lawsuit. The lawyer needs a good formal poll on the wages around the country. Please reply here, or in a private email to me the pay rates that you know of, and the part of the country that that rate is in.
Any help is appreciated, and I will keep your identities anon.

Mike... im assuming you want HP pay rates not contract union side?
-
Well, for the lawyer I need HP rates, however, I personally would like to see rate for all job descriptions. That way everyone can see what different trades are making.
Please note HP types, I need DOE, DOD, and Other site rates as well as power plant rates. I need House rates as well as contract rates. (I have a very good idea what contract HP rates at power plants are, I have them posted in the outage section).

Mike,
I'm at Argonne National Lab in IL, pay for Sr. H.P.Techs is $19.96 to $22.34 depending on which step they hire you in at. No per diem but full benefits and vacation/holidays. You always get at least a week off during Christmas New Years(place shuts down). Tech I, II & III of course are lower, entry is $12.42. Overtime varies but I get all I want.
Radgal :)

18.00-19.00 for riggers? man...those union boilermakers and ironworkers are making out like bandits...in illinois here they average 36.00-48.00 with full benefits...including like 10.00 per hour into retirement.

:o hmmmm what kinda lawyer is this guy. any good lawyer knows that pay rates are readily found based on SIC codes and can get those from the companies themselves. posting on this board is really hearsay.. in a court of law. so i would beware of that type of legal aid. besides pays nationally run from $20 to 35.00 its the same everywhere. utilities work to make pay rates standard to avoid disparity. one factor that isnt often applied is the tax base. getting quotes for around the country and not adding in the tax base is not really a good idea of pay rates at all. $20 in a non taxed state is equal to $30 in some place like connecticut.
-
Trojan decomissioning: Senior HP $31/hr no diem. Doesn't matter if your frisking walls or moving fuel to the pad.
-
Millwright@ Palo Verde last fall $21.65 6 10's $60 a day per diem.
Machinist/millwright Cooper next week $19.25 per hour 6 12's $50 a day per diem. $2.00 per hour completion bonus. :o
-
excuse me!!! but the tax rate in ct is not 50% so don't go scaring people away from ct. However you do have a point. You have to take into consideration what the tax rate is in each state, what is the standard deduction, and what expenses can be itemized. Mass, Mich, Wisc, NY, Ohio (local tax also), Maryland, NJ & Maine are the highest tax states that I have worked. :'(
-
Ct. union millwrights 24.70 +benefits and retirement. Boston 27.52 + benefits, retirement and 6.50 hr annuity.
-
To put things in perspective.
The pay rate at Three Mile Island in 1979 post accident was $7.00/hour and $30.00/perdiem.With a rental car and gas included.
-
yeah, but gas wuz free.... ya just changed out cars every 3 daze er sew ;D
-
Sloglo, one of those change outs wasn't a Camaro hard top into a convertible was it? Thought I forgot about that story didn't ya.
-
Farley upcoming outage Jr. HP's 14.50 and 80 diem/day
-
Washington state "Re-Training" benefit...$496/week. ;D ;D ;D
-
Calvert
Chemtech
$26/hr-$32/hr based on qualifications
-
I would have to say that the pay rates are much better inside certain systems, like the exlon system. The pay rates are really low out in california and in Florida.
-
Seabrook is paying $23.50 and $90 and they were not able to get a full staff.
Go figure? Why does FPL pay more in sunny Florida? I guess air conditioning costs 2.50 and hour more in Florida while in New Hampshire all you have to do is go outside.
-
Duane Arnold this outage was $26 & 90 ;) for a SHP...& they were not staffed like 3 weeks ago...don't know if if they filled or not.
They should ALL be that! :P
-
Washington state "Re-Training" benefit...$496/week. ;D ;D ;D
Commonwealth of Massachussetts $508/wk plus $25 for each dependent child. Kinda makes you wonder why anyone would want to work if there is still time left on your claim.

IT SOUNDS LIKE WATTS BARR RATES ARE GONNA SUCK BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
You are right RadBastard, the rates are the same as the 2003 Sequoyah SGR, and they were low then.
-
If people go the to watts barr for those wages with everything else out there they are moe rons.
I don't want to hear {OH' BLUTO IT'S OUR HOME PLANT WE HAVE TO WORK IT.} :-X :'(
Did the germans have to work it when they bombed pearl harbor? NO!
I'm sure their were still some there, hey wait a minute that doesn't matter anyway.
UNTIL YOUR NAME IS ON THE CORNERSTONE OF THE PLANT IT AIN'T YOUR PLANT
If nobody goes or summits their resume you will force their hand to raise the rates.
good luck everyone.

I agree. I have been selective about where I work and how much I get paid. I do make exceptions though, I am looking forward to Pilgrim again and even Grand Gulf. I geuss I have been lucky about who I worked for and with so far.
-
RadBastard, we have a contract staff of 8 right now, and 6 of them are locals. We may get run over by the death mobile!!!
