Job description
Entergy Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. We own and operate power plants, and are the second-largest nuclear generator in the United States. This position will be located at our Palisades Nuclear Plant in Covert, MI.

Sr. Civil Engineer

Salary: $50,000 - $110,500

These positions may be filled as an Eng I, II, III or Sr. Eng / Tech Spec III or Tech Spec IV depending on the qualification level of the applicant. Responsible for the engineering and safety of nuclear components at all Entergy Nuclear plants. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

•        Ensuring engineering work is performed and programs implemented consistent with defined standards
•        Developing, planning and coordinating or implementing special projects, corrective action plans, and improvement programs to address plant problems or regulatory sensitive issues
•        Initiating and executing frequent exchanges with others, as necessary, to resolve areas of conflict, promote a supportive team approach, and address issues where obstacles are hampering common performance
•        Ensuring that fleet lessons learned and good practices are implemented
•        Controlling engineering cost through maximization of resources and tracking expenditures within budget parameters
•        Maintaining the Design Bases of the plant
•        Overseeing the development of drawings, specifications and detailed design for fabrication of new and modification of existing plant equipment and systems
•        Evaluating and selecting optimum design alternatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BS degree in Civil Engineering or other engineering degree generally associated with power plant operations in the fields of mechanical or structural design. 0 – 8 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.

Tech Spec III requires 8 yrs experience or a BS degree and 4 yrs nuclear experience.
Tech Spec IV requires 10 yrs experience or a BS degree and 6 yrs nuclear experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR. Professional Engineering license. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
