Job description
Basic Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of one year of engineering experience.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear/Mechanical Engineering. Demonstrated PC proficiency using PC software and Unix workstations. Demonstrate the ability to perform effectively in both a team environment and independently. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and effectively meet deadlines under time constraints. Previous analytical and problem solving skills, relating to engineering. Demonstrated experience performing routine mechanical and/or nuclear engineering assignments or assisting with complex engineering projects. Prior experience working to develop engineering solutions. Proven to provide basic technical guidance, planning, and development for engineering systems and processes. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, including experience with technical writing. Must demonstrate the ability to take initiative, be accountable for results, and motivate self to achieve high performance standards. Must be able to identify and respond to business needs.

Preferences:
Degree: MBA/MA/MS, License: EIT/PE. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering. Knowledge of nuclear fuel, vendor fuel analysis methodology, and computer codes. An EIT certification and or California PE in Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

Typical Responsibilities:
The position is in the Nuclear Safety Analysis discipline. A Nuclear Safety Analyst's responsibilities include in part: computer simulation of reactor transient behaviors, performing parametric and sensitivity analyses, documentation of analyses of QA (Quality Assurance) standards, performing analyses in support of emergent plant issues, and software control.
