Job description
Basic Qualification:
The successful candidate must have an Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Five years experience performing or supervising in a Nuclear Mechanical Maintenance environment, or as a Nuclear Maintenance Planner.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this position must have demonstrated thorough knowledge of mechanical principles and/or electrical theory and processes as they apply to plant repairs and modifications, QA principles, rigging, scaffolding, and general mechanical/electrical maintenance. Knowledge of ASME codes and related NDE processes as they apply to Mechanical maintenance. Must experience thorough knowledge of maintenance program, procedures and compliance. Knowledgeable with Corporate and site safety, illness, injury policies, rules, and procedures. Demonstrated experience with project management techniques to establish and maintain budgets, develop communication plans, and review and update scope and progress. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining work schedules, project plans, and project completion reports. Demonstrate the knowledge of and experience with applying Human Resources policies, procedures, principles, and laws including discipline, performance management and development, salary administration, selection of personnel, affirmative action, and equal opportunity legislation. Demonstrate the knowledge of UWUA and GPPMA agreements. Demonstrated ability to analyze information and make effective decisions on immediate issues. Demonstrate the ability to achieve results through others by prioritizing activities, delegating and monitoring the progress of assignments, and holding employees accountable for results. Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others to overcome obstacles and achieve goals. Demonstrated experience consulting, including independently identifying needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results. Exercise excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate the presentation of recommendations. Demonstrate the ability to work successfully in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities while providing strategic and tactical deliverables. Must demonstrate the ability to take initiative and accountability for results and be able to work any shift: days, nights, swings, and/or weekends.

Preferences:
Outage/on-line experience as a first line supervisor, upgrade supervisor, or planner.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide direction for planning, scheduling, performance, and documentation of work performed by nuclear machinists. Typical responsibilities include: analyzing, estimating, and supervising coordination of maintenance work activity, meeting required deadlines and schedules; interpreting union contracts; investigating and coordinating grievance activities, forecasting and preparing maintenance budgets; preparing performance appraisals, and providing subordinate counseling; interfacing with other division supervisors to correct equipment problems and provide technical support, performing critical self assessment; and performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
