Job description
Supervises the operation of Callaway Plant in accordance with approved procedures so as to ensure the safe, legal and efficient operation of the unit. Responsible for administration of the Workman's Protection Assurance Program and on-shift training of all crew members.

Assume ERO duties in accordance with Callaway Plant Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to the plant within the required RERP response time. Responsible to act as Fire Brigade Leader.

Maintain a working relationship with the Power Services Department with respect to unit loading and outages in accordance with the Operating Manual of the Union Electric system.

Sets, reinforces, communicates high standards; promotes teamwork and excellence; fosters good nuclear, radiological, human performance, and industrial safety behaviors; provides appropriate coaching to workers; implements performance improvement initiatives; actively participates in training and development of workers; develops and broadens the skills of workers; oversees on-the-job training; supports self assessments, etc.

Interface with all nuclear departments, contractor personnel, manufacturer¿s representatives and other company personnel as required to support work on plant equipment and systems.


Description of ideal candidate
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education
High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience
Four or more years of nuclear power plant experience in training or plant operations activities required. Also must meet the experience requirements of TDP-ZZ-00052, Senior Reactor Operator Training Program.

Other
Good leadership, decision-making, human relations, communication skills, presentation and motivational techniques. Security screening required for Callaway Plant. May be assigned to the Work Control Center for a period of three years.
