Job description
Basic Qualifications:
Possess a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, or technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Minimum five years of experience managing Engineering programs and processes related to self-assessment.

General Job Requirements:
The successful candidate must possess experience developing and implementing multidisciplinary engineering programs and processes with minimal supervision. Broad knowledge of self assessment process and experience with cause evaluations, and corrective actions. Broad knowledge of industry regulations and station standards processes and work organizations related to the design, operation and maintenance of the nuclear power station. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem solving skills in order to disseminate information & influence direction on projects. Demonstrated experience in facilitating meetings with cross-functional stakeholders and upholding work process and implementation standards. Demonstrated experience interpreting regulatory and process requirements and making recommendations for disposition equipment, human performance, and program problems. Must possess objective and analytical problem solving and independent decision making skills. Demonstrated experience developing solutions to complex issues, with no precedent. Must have good oral communication, conflict management and writing skills targeted at the general work population, and all levels of management. Must have demonstrated experience in making presentations to all levels of management. Demonstrated ability to interface with supervisors and senior management. Demonstrated broad knowledge of common software applications such as: MS Word, Excel, and Power Point. ANSI N18.1-1971 Requirements: Shall be competent in technical matters related to plant safety and other engineering and scientific support aspects.

Experience working with SAP.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will develop and implement programs to improve engineering processes and performance in the area of the corrective action program, self assessment, and plant health issues and coordination. He/she will work with Engineering Services (ES) to support four San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) engineering divisions: Maintenance/System Engineering, Design Engineering, Nuclear Fuels Management, Projects, Regulatory Affairs or about 370 engineers, by working on overarching issues. ES creates, develops, executes and monitors programmatic processes for the engineering divisions in the corrective action program, ALARA program, SAP integration, Engineering Training and Qualifications, Computer Support and Engineering Change Package Turnovers. Typical responsibilities include: supporting Engineering with corrective action program by participating in cause evaluations and monitoring evaluation quality; performing self-assessment on engineering evaluation and metrics; coordinating SAP training and integration for Engineering; providing strategic focus and planning of new SONGS initiatives; providing back-up and support to ALARA program, engineering training and qualifications and engineering package turnovers; and performing other duties as assigned.
