Job description
Please verify that your education and/or experience meets the minimum requirements listed below. Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements. This position may be eligible for relocation benefits. This is a union position. This position may be filled with an engineering analyst with the minimum requirements of a 2 year engineering or technical associates degree. Placement within the engineering hierarchy will commensurate with the candidate’s skills, education and experience.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing technical guidance and support to assure the availability and accuracy of spare parts and materials to operate plant systems.
Essential Responsibilities: Percent of Time
a) Application and implementation of the Quality Assurance program as it relates to the procurement of equipment, parts, services and materials. 30%
b) Application and implementation of commercial grade item part numbers including the development of accurate acceptance plans. 10%
c) Development of accurate part descriptions, procurement specifications and safety classifications. 10%
d) Application and implementation of appropriate code reconcilitation as needed to support procurement functions (i.e. ASME, ASTM, ANSI, IEEE, UL etc.) 5%
e) Maintenance of spare part data bases as required to support plant operations, maintenance and modification 15%
f) Performance of equivalency evaluations as needed to support procurement function. 25%
g) Determination of stocking levels required to support plant operations and control cost 5%

Description of ideal candidate
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required. 8 years of job related experience is preferred. Professional Engineering Certification preferred. Direct experience in procurement engineering preferred. Must have excellent communication, organization, analytical, and teamwork skills. Must have the ability to handle a wide range of technical issues.
Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.
