Job description

Position Summary:
Performs chemistry and radiochemistry sampling and analysis to support Technical Specifications, the TRM, Regulatory, and Site requirements. Independently perform most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems, and obtains supervisory approval of proposed plans for projects.

This job requires the support of a rotating shift schedule, 365 days a year. Travel to support Company objectives may be part of the requirement of this position. Individuals are required to support the emergency response organization and must reside or be willing to relocate within 60 minutes of the plant.

Essential Responsibilities: Percent of Time
a) Performs chemistry and radiochemistry sampling and analysis, and may perform radiation surveys. 30%
b) Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in chemistry and radiochemistry techniques, procedures and criteria to meet all regulatory requirements. 20%
c) Provides guidance or assistance to Plant Operations, Nuclear Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Chemistry Supervision. 20%
d) Provides technical guidance to other Nuclear Chemistry Technicians and provide support for process quality improvement initiatives.
15%
e) Implements a variety of chemistry and radiochemistry projects, and coordinates the analysis of technical data to identify requirements. 15%
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma required. Individual should possess ANSI 18.1 Radiation Protection qualifications. Navy Engineering Laboratory Technician experience is desired.
Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.
