Job description

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for: 1. The NMC Nuclear Oversight project assessment procedures for the fleet; providing leadership and strategic support in the provision of independent oversight of project activities for NMC; and identifying and applying relevant lessons learned from other facilities. 2. Providing leadership at the Project Team level representing the Supplier Assessment project oversight function for the Fleet; providing input regarding budget, process and personnel in the areas of oversight for major projects. 3. Coordination of assessment resources (primarily contracted) applied through project oversight planning for selected NMC Fleet project activities from planning through fabrication and NMC on-site construction activities up to turn-over for operations.
Essential Responsibilities: Percent of Time
a) This position is responsible for the coordination of the implementation of project oversight in support of the Fleet Modification Process. This includes determination of project specific assessment functions, implementation strategy, and control of related resources. 40%
b) This position is responsible for the conduct of independent oversight in support of the Fleet Modification Process. This includes developing, maintaining and implementing project specific oversight plans. This individual will coordinate and be responsible for the performance of project specific assessment activities. 30%
c) This position is responsible to develop and maintain implementing procedures to effectively provide oversight of fabrication activities associated with major projects for the Fleet. Coordinate assessment resources in the areas of nuclear fuel procurement and active construction/fabrication projects. Work with Project Managers to assure adequate oversight resources are provided and submit/maintain oversight budgets for project activities. 20%
d) Conduct assessments of project related supplier activities, and support supplier QSL related assessment as available and needed. 10%

Description of ideal candidate
Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school required. 5 yrs Nuclear Power Plant (2-3 yrs at Assessor level)is preferred. Project Experience preferred. Strong understanding of 10CFR50 , Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, 10CFR21 and EPRI 5652; Manufacturing and Fabrication oversight experience is desired. Basic knowledge Special Processes (Welding, NDE, etc)is desired.
Selection criteria may include testing and/or assessment.

*Fabrication exp and knowledge is a plus
