Job description
Provide expertise to the Licensing Department in the area of expertise. Acts as engineer for assigned activities. Identifies and interprets regulatory requirements to assist in the operation and maintenance of the plants. Communicates to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on meeting nuclear regulations. Research, write, and coordinate the review, approval and submission of various technical and administrative reports to the NRC. Interprets and amends plant Technical Specifications. Performs disposition of Part 21 and DERs assigned to Licensing. May perform NRC Region I inspection coordination, support Operations reportability determinations, review reportable incidents, prepare Licensee Event Reports and responses to Notices of Violation, manage the Nuclear Commitment Tracking System and submit NRC performance indicators.

Description of ideal candidate
1.Bachelors of Science degree in relevant engineering discipline plus 7 to 10 years of experience in plant operations and/or engineering of which 5 years experience is in licensing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Candidates with varying experience will be considered; compensation to be determined by qualifications.)
2.Knowledge of NRC rules, regulations and regulatory requirements applicable to licensing and operations activities (i.e. CFR Part 21, CFR Part 50, NUREG 1022, Unit 1 and Unit 2 Technical Specifications, USAR/UFSAR, NRC Regulatory Oversight Program,).
3.Excellent oral and written communication skills
4.Proven ability to work within difficult time constraints.
5.Current or previous SRO license or SRO certification preferred.


1.Ability to meet and maintain unescorted access requirements of a nuclear power plant.
2.Ability to work additional hours to support ongoing plant operations and refueling outages. Must be availability for on-call status..
3.Ability to read, write, and analyze reports and written materials.
4.Ability to see, hear and speak to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions.
5.Ability to serve on emergency response team, when called.
6.Regular and consistent attendance is essential to the performance of the position
