Job description
Entergy Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. We own and operate power plants, and are the second-largest nuclear generator in the United States. This position will be located at our Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth, MA.

Responsibilities
1. Reviews Plant Design Changes for operations/fire protection procedural impact.
2. Develops, revises, technically reviews, and validates procedures.
3. Performs surveillances and tests, some of which are of a comparatively complicated nature.
4. Collects data, does analyses, and writes reports.
5. Investigates or assists in investigation of Plant events and prepares written reports.
6. Assists in the planning, coordinating, and directing of engineering projects of varying complexity.
7. Reviews engineering aspects of applications, designs, or proposed plans for compliance with laws, regulations, standards, specifications or other requirements and criteria.
8. Ensures the timely completion of approved projects through the preparation, approval, and revision of detailed plans and schedules.
9. Coordinates and maintains liaison with organizations having related assignments, outside agencies, contractors and utility companies.
10. Uses computer programs and systems.
11. Performs Special Nuclear Material inventories and maintains accountability records.
12. Monitors fuel movement and assists in verifying correct positioning.
13. Develops fuel movement schedules for fuel transfers.
14. Develops control rod withdrawal sequence sheets and programs the Rod Worth Minimizer.
15. Supports the maintenance and testing of fire protection equipment/systems and the Station's Fire Protection Program.
16. Provides technical input as necessary for the design, maintenance and troubleshooting of fire protection equipment and systems including system isolations as required.
17. Assists in the development of Fire Protection System status reports and maintenance of a prioritized list of work to be performed on Fire Protection Systems.
18. Participates in fire protection administrative controls program as described in applicable PNPS procedures (e.g. Hot Work Permits and Combustible Control Permits).
19. Provides support to establish or secure compensatory measure firewatches and Hot Work Permit firewatches.
20. Provides support as necessary to help maintain a qualified on-site Fire Brigade and Fire Brigade equipment lockers.
21. Develops responses to Problem Reports and other corrective action documents.
22. As necessary, develops, revises and validates Fire Protection System Equipment Vendor Manuals.
23. Provides related technical guidance and support to others
24. Supports the Sr. Fire Protection Engineer/FPPO and Sr. Reactor Engineers as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science or related discipline and 2 years experience related to nuclear plant operations, maintenance, engineering or fire protection systems
OR
Associate Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Science or related discipline and 5 years experience related to nuclear plant operations, maintenance, engineering or fire protection systems,
OR
Has or has held a RO or SRO license and ten years experience related to nuclear plant operations, maintenance, engineering or fire protection systems.
