Job description
Entergy Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. We own and operate power plants, and are the second-largest nuclear generator in the United States. This position is located at our Vermont Yankee plant in Vernon, VT.

Sr. Engineer (Nuclear)

Salary: $51,500 - $114,000

Responsibilities:
First responsibility will be to act as Engineering Coordinator for online and outage work scope. This includes attending scheduling meetings and coordinating engineering tasks with System, Design, Program and Component Engineers. Responsible for proactive identification and resolution of plant issues, and technical assistance to the Operations and Maintenance departments. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

•        Support Maintenance and Operations in system troubleshooting and provide system/discipline expertise for troubleshooting significant events or complex plant problems
•        Interface with Maintenance and Operations for cost effective maintenance strategies
•        Issue Engineering Changes (Design Changes and Temporary Modifications) to support emergent plant issues and equipment reliability issues
•        Use and sharing of Operating Experience (EN Fleet and industry)
•        Work planning and prioritization (including long-range planning and life-cycle management)
•        Prioritize/establish action plans to address deficiencies via Corrective Action & Work Mgmt. Processes
•        Support changes in system configuration/design and design basis
•        Develop engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures
•        Participate in project teams for critical on-line system outages or refueling outages
•        Serve on outage engineering support teams as assigned
•        Attend Training and maintain Qualifications necessary to perform required group functions

Qualifications:
BS Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent experience. Equivalent Experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer/Specialist level. 0 to 8 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon Engineering level. Good communication skills and experience/proficiency in PC use and applications, depending upon Engineering level.

Final title and salary offer will be made according to the background and experiences of the preferred candidate and may be Engineer I, II, III or Sr.
