Job description
Radiological Controls Supervisor – Reporting to Project Manager, Portage, and GM Operations, DeNuke

Initially, you will assist on the development of the entire MDAB project documentation and deliverable submittal package supporting startup of Portage MDAB RadConOps under all applicable LANS RPP Plans and LANS Procedures, DOE Orders and the recently issued Guide. Where needed, you will develop the MDAB Project RadCon procedures for such new operations as dig face monitoring, DIF waste sorting, disposition of unknowns, etc.

With your excellent industry knowledge, leadership and communications skills, you will be asked to assist in the selection and training of up to 5 Sr. RadCon techs, to be assigned to you over the summer of 2008. Throughout the project you will be working with the Project Manager, the customer, lead engineering and nuclear safely staff, contracts and accounting personnel, while you coordinate, direct and report on all field RadCon activities and support the planning and development of the project completion efforts to meet or exceed all schedule milestones.

Education and Certifications
•        A.S., B.S., or higher. Experience and/or training may be accepted
•        Professional level certification preferred (CSP, CHP, CIH). Nationally         recognized technician level certification is a plus (NRRPT, OHST, or         similar).

Experience
•        5 to 10 years of nuclear industry, supervisory level or greater experience.
•        Experience and understanding of HR regulations.
•        Experience with safety and quality assessments.
•        Experience with responding to and resolving QA/HR issues.

Other Requirements
•        Ability to attain and maintain certification as a Sr. RCT.
•        Able to participate in physically demanding work while wearing         personnel protective equipment including respiratory protection.
•        Physically fit and medically qualified to wear a respirator
•        Able to lift 30 lbs and climb ladders
•        This position requires an ability to obtain a clearance.
•        Ability to develop, organize, and complete reports and assignments         related to DeNuke activities at Paducah

Reporting, Responsibilities, Duties, & Functions
Independent implementation and oversight of the day-to-day programmatic aspects of the Radiological Protection Plan. Act as a primary conduit for all RPP related issues between field and management personnel. Generate, review and approve radiological records. Perform data input and analysis. Perform ALARA assessments. Participate in the formulation of action plans in response to identified deficiencies. Perform and evaluate detailed technical operations in compliance with written work plans, protocols, and procedures. Provide guidance and interpretation of RPP compliance issues. Provide training and mentoring for RADCON Technician staff. Supervisors will be accountable for day-to-day implementation of site health and safety procedures, protocols, and policies. Represents and implements company management and management policies and procedures. Perform such other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation
Pay: $35-39/hr. + apartment allowance of $450/mo and $49 PD, 7 days/wk.
Incentive: yes, based on agreed performance measures, up to 10%

Overtime: ST Rate X 1.5
