Job description
DeNuke Services is seeking a Radcon Supervisor/Lead to support the current Radcon Manager to the SPRU Remediation Project in Niskayuna, NY at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL).

The SPRU remediation project will excavate over 6,500 CY of mixed and low level soils and debris starting in the summer of 2008 and scheduled to complete in the summer of 2010. Activities are being conducted under stringent procedural requirements, similar to naval reactors programs fro safety and radiological controls.

Position: Radcon Supervisor/Lead, reporting to the Radiation Protection Manager
Location: SPRU Project, Niskayuna, NY
Start Date: June 2008
Duration : approximately 2 years

- full time position that requires 100% of time on site,
- experience with similar projects
- ability to obtain a DOE L or Q security clearance,
- commitment to complete the project.

DUTIES:

- assist on the development of RadCon procedures for operations.
- Assist in training of Technicians
- Direct and Report on all Field RadCon Activities and support the planning and development of the project completion efforts to meet or exceed all scheduled milestones.

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
•        A.S., B.S., or higher. Experience and/or training may be accepted
•        Nationally recognized technician level certification is a plus (NRRPT, OHST, or         similar).

EXPERIENCE
•        5 to 10 years of nuclear industry, supervisory level or greater,
        Experience and understanding of HR regulations
•        Experience with safety and quality assessments.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
•        Ability to attain and maintain certification as a Sr. RCT.
•        Able to participate in physically demanding work while wearing personnel protective equipment including respiratory protection.
•        Physically fit and medically qualified to wear a respirator
•        Able to lift 30 lbs and climb ladders
•        Ability to develop, organize, and complete reports and assignments.

REPORTING, RESPONSIBILITIES. DUTIES, & FUNCTIONS

Independent implementation and oversight of the day-to-day programmatic aspects of the Radiological Protection Plan. Act as a primary conduit for all RPP related issues between field and management personnel. Generate, review and approve radiological records. Perform data input and analysis. Perform ALARA assessments. Participate in the formulation of action plans in response to identified deficiencies. Perform and evaluate detailed technical operations in compliance with written work plans, protocols, and procedures. Provide guidance and interpretation of RPP compliance issues. Provide training and mentoring for RADCON Technician staff. Supervisors will be accountable for day-to-day implementation of site health and safety procedures, protocols, and policies. Represents and implements company management and management policies and procedures. Perform such other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

COMPENSATION:

Pay: $32.00-35.00/Hour
PerDiem: 143.00/day - 1st 60 days (receipts required) - $85.00/day after 60 days (no receipts). If lodging is provided for you during the 1st 60 days, M&IE will be $49.00/day.
Mobilization/Demobilization: Yes - Current GSA - 50.5cents/mile
Health & Welfare Benefit - TBD (if yes, $3.16/hour)
Start date: TBD (June time frame)
Duration: Approximately 2 years
Location: Niskayuna, NY
Project Holidays - Yes - 10 holidays
PTO - 2 weeks (10 days) after 1 year of service
Bonus: Yes - 2.00/hour (Project Completion - 1.00/hour and Safety - 1.00/hour)
Work Schedule - TBD, but is expected to be 4/10's. (Overtime possible - no guarantees)
