Job description
Exelon is currently looking for a Heat Exchanger Senior Engineer at our Kennett Square, PA Office.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible person works with the nuclear sites and headquarters to develop and maintain standard approaches/processes for 89-13 program requirements, heat exchangers and condensers. Support of the buried pipe raw program is also an area of responsibility.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Supports resolution of emergent 89-13 programmatic, heat exchanger and condenser issues at the nuclear stations.
· Resolves multi-site issues using a common approach and resolution. Performs technical assessments of site capabilities and products.
· Provides technical expertise, leadership, oversight and direction on technical issues for 89-13, BOP heat exchanger, condenser and assist with buried pipe raw water.
· Performs technical/engineering problem solving and supports nuclear stations with reviews and recommendations related to troubleshooting plans.
· Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects.
· Performs outage readiness reviews and assessments related to 89-13, condenser and feedwater heater.
· Develops and executes long and short-range strategies to ensure high reliability of equipment.
· Perform emergency plan duties
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED:
· B. S. degree in engineering or related science or Professional Engineering Registration.
· Minimum of 6- 10 years of engineering experience associated with heat exchangers operations and maintenance.
· Experience with heat exchanger inspection/testing/maintenance/design/fabrication is required.
· Candidate should be familiar with associated regulatory and industry requirements as related to ASME and other industry heat exchanger related organizations.
· Superior expertise as either a multi-discipline technical leader or as a specific discipline expert (e.g. on-shift or other significant experience with AE, OEMs or equipment manufacturers. Industry leadership or mentorship).
· Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to station sites on a routine basis.
PREFERRED:
· Professional Engineering Registration and/or SRO Cert / License, advanced technical degree.
· Minimum of 15 years power generation industry experience.
· Working knowledge of ASME Code (including performance test codes)
