Job description
Exelon is currently looking for a BWR Nulear Core Design Engineer at our Kennett Square Office Building in Kennett Square, PA.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of the nuclear fuel cycle from design input specification for the reload through management of the operating core. Responsible for technical decisions and reload coordination.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

1· Coordinate, direct, and/or perform reactor physics analyses required to determine the reload fuel batch size and fuel designs (enrichment, gadolinia) to meet the fuel cycle requirements.

2. Collaborate with the fuel vendor in running codes, selecting design inputs, and validating outputs used for the reload design.

3. Coordinate, direct, and/or perform analyses and provide technical support to manage the nuclear reactor core throughout the operating cycle.

4. Monitor core operations to ensure reload licensing assumptions are met. This includes routine core follow and performance indicator maintenance.

5. Provide timely response to issues that impact plant operation.

6. Lead the core reload process through reload meetings, reload schedule adherence, procedure adherence, design analysis and cycle management report development, control blade management, reload documentation, and Fuel Change Package development.

7. Identify and pursue process and individual development improvements.

8. Perform technical reviews and special projects in areas of expertise, as requested.

9. Governance and oversight of Reactor Engineering activities.

REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED
· B. S. in Nuclear Engineering or equivalent technical degree
· Minimum of 2-6 years Professional experience

PREFERRED
· Professional Engineer Registration
· Advanced technical degree or related coursework
· QNE Qualification desirable
