Job description
Exelon Nuclear has an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation & Control Engineer at our Kennett Square office in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Work with Nuclear sites and headquarters to develop standard approaches and processes for Engineering issues and programs. Perform technical assessments of site capabilities and products. Maintain Nuclear Safety, improve equipment performance and reliability, and optimize cost savings across the Exelon Nuclear Fleet. Support resolution of emergent I&C issues at nuclear stations and resolve multi-site I&C issues using a common approach and resolution. Lead and participate in industry committees.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Perform advanced engineering and technical tasks in support of nuclear plant operations.
2. Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects.
3. Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability ensuring compliance to customer's needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
4. Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
5. Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
6. Provides initial or complete task management of engineering issues.
7. Recommends equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
8. Supports plant design modifications, testing and problem solving.
9. Assure all engineering products prepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements.
10. Develop, implement and coordinate functional supervisory activities including, but not limited to, personnel, budgetary accountabilities and planning goals with respect to engineering personnel.
11. Perform Emergency Preparedness and Engineering Duty Manager duties.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED
· B. S. degree in engineering or related science or Professional Engineering Registration
· Typically a minimum of 10 years of Engineering experience and exceptional Performance
PREFERRED
· Professional Engineering Registration, advanced technical degree or coursework
