Job description
Exelon is currently looking for a Senior Fuels Engineer at our Kennett Square, PA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Performs advanced fuels related problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses superior knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and regulations. Functions with recognized industry-level of expertise in a technical area.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement nuclear engineering activities related to plant safety, fuel design, operations, reliability, maintainability, and availability ensuring compliance to customer's needs, industry codes, regulatory requirements, licensing and design bases, and corporate policies.

2. Provide around-the-clock Reactivity Management Plan review and comment, participation in Reactivity Management challenge boards, general Reactor Engineering governance and oversight, and corporate representation at RMRP and BWROG RCRC meetings.

3. Perform advanced nuclear engineering and technical tasks in support of nuclear plant operations and Nuclear Fuels BWR Design activities.

4. Recommends new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operations, reduce costs, or comply with changes in codes or regulations. Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of new concepts and technical projects.

5. Obtains Nuclear Fuels BWR Design certifications and actively imparts knowledge to others as a technical mentor and acts in a support role as a reviewer.

6. Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required:·        
. B. S. degree in Nuclear Engineering or related science
· Typically a minimum of 2-10 years of nuclear engineering experience and exceptional performance

Preferred:
· Current or former BWR QNE Qualification or BWR SRO Certification (highly preferred)
. Professional Engineering Registration, advanced technical degree or Coursework.
