Job description
Basic Qualifications / General Job Requirements:
A minimum of four years of experience performing analysis, audits, and providing technical recommendations on work processes and programs is required. The successful applicant will have already demonstrated the following skills, abilities, knowledge and experience as listed: Nuclear power industry experience with quality assurance, engineering, health physics, chemistry, emergency preparedness, maintenance, or operations. Use of regulations, codes, and standards for nuclear power plants or related industry, such as ANSI or 10CFR Appendix B to complete work such as engineering design and/or auditing. Technical writing. Recognized by current organization as an expert in performing audits and providing technical recommendations on work processes and programs. Translates and presents technical information in a clear, concise format as demonstrated by the production of technical reports, audits, or assessments. Builds team relationships and interfaces with internal and external organizations to achieve performance improvements. Self-motivated, with skills to work efficiently and effectively on multiple and concurrent tasks to meet established deadlines with minimal supervision. Oral and written communication skills, and is customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to customers business needs. Interfaces effectively and collaborates with clients, peers, and management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in. Accurately analyzes information and make sound decisions. Demonstrated experience with taking initiative and accountability for achieving results. ANSI N18.1 Requirements: Must be competent in technical matters related to plant safety and other engineering and scientific support aspects.

Education:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physical Science, related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.

Preferred Skills:
A Bachelors Degree is preferred. Experience in the performance of audits or the assessment of nuclear power plant programs and processes is desired.

Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate for this position reports to the Supervisor of the Audits and Programs Oversight Group within the Nuclear Oversight & Assessments Division at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. In the process of obtaining Lead Auditor qualification, the successful candidate will work under the direction of a Lead Auditor and the Supervisor, performing in-depth audits, surveillances, and assessments of nuclear programs and processes to assess their effectiveness and verify compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) program and regulatory requirements. In addition, after completing Lead Auditor qualification, the successful candidate will plan, coordinate and lead audit teams in the performance of audits.
