Job description
Position Summary:

Without oversight, manage all aspects of construction, testing, and turnover activities for the construction site. Interface with various Senior Project Managers, Production Managers and key stakeholders to effectively support required field engineering assistance as required for schedule challenge resolution. Development of construction procedures including approval and implementation. Coordination with Licensing department for project expansion support from a construction standpoint.

Responsibilities:

•Support of construction schedule by leading and coordinating large project teams across multiple organizations, managers, and shifts for items requiring rapid engineering resolution
•Development of project expansion with Licensing department including required regulatory interfacing
•Effectively communicate organizational support needs (Engineering assistance, QC assistance, etc.) for maintaining compliance with construction schedule and design requirements
•Ensuring compliance with all necessary procedural requirements to support construction IAW all safety requirements, design requirements, schedule expectations, cost estimates, and quality requirements
•Manage, track, and present to senior NEF management all indicators tracking expansion items requiring management attention and intervention
• Interface with regulatory and government agencies / offices
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Knowledgeable in the generation and application of project management principles, concepts and techniques including procedure generation, approval, and implementation
•Knowledgeable of NRC licensing process, SAR commitments, and NRC inspection processes.
•Knowledgeable of construction principles and problem solving techniques using rigorous and rapid engineering analysis deriving required resolutions for field construction to implement
•Knowledgeable of long range project planning
•Knowledgeable of the corrective action program requirements associated with NRC requirements for PI&R
•Ability to provide prioritization, direction, and mentoring for team leads/members to solve a variety of problems
•Ability to coordinate and effectively communicate established priorities across multiple groups (vendor) assigned activities
•Ability to determine, communicate, and obtain assistance for challenges to completing assigned activities per the schedule
•Self starter, consistent, milestone and goal driven based on established priorities.
•Capable of complying with, and enforcing, procedural requirements with high standards and quality work
•Desire for continuous improvement and learning from and acting upon others ideas.
•Maintain US NRC nuclear fitness for duty qualification
•Attain/maintain a US government L-Level or Q-Level security clearance (based on assigned responsibilities)
•Urenco Core Values (Safety, Integrity, Flexibility, Development and Profitability) as they apply at the Middle Manager level
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Strong interpersonal skills with NEF personnel and outside vendors and contractor personnel.
•Ability to direct and provide working conditions under pressure to meet critical deadlines, yet remain flexible in responding to changing requirements

Education / Experience Requirements:

Education:
A Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering and Ten (10) years related experience in field construction at a Nuclear facility. Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in a field construction leadership role in at least two (2) diverse fields may be substituted for a Bachelor degree or the Nuclear facility experience.

Physical Requirements:
Typically, the employee will be providing oversight in field at various times of the day. The remaining time the employee may sit comfortably to perform administrative functions for the position. There will be walking; climbing; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Capable of working overtime as needed for project support.
