Job description
Job Description Summary:

With minimal oversight, manage all construction, testing, and turnover activities for specific assigned building area. Interface with various production managers and key stakeholders to effectively implement the construction schedule for assigned building area. Coordinate, track, and validate vendor contract compliance associated with assigned construction activities.

Responsibilities:

• Implementation of construction schedule by leading and coordinating large project teams across multiple organizations
• Maintain effective short and Long range schedule compliance
•Effectively communicate organizational support needs (Engineering assistance, QC assistance, etc.) for maintaining compliance with construction schedule
•Ensuring compliance with all necessary procedural requirements to support construction IAW all safety requirements, design requirements, schedule expectations, cost estimates, and quality requirements
•Manage, track, and present to senior NEF management assigned building area indicators for schedule status, cost status, and other items requiring management attention and intervention
•Implement contract management oversight
• Interface with regulatory and government agencies / offices

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Knowledgeable in the generation and application of project management principles, concepts and techniques including contract generation and implementation.
•Knowledgeable of construction principles and problem solving techniques.
•Knowledgeable of long range project scheduling.
•Knowledgeable of vendor contract requirements and capable of validating and enforcing contract and cost compliance.
•Ability to provide prioritization and direction to solve a variety of problems.
•Ability to coordinate and effectively communicate established priorities across multiple groups (vendor) assigned activities.
•Ability to determine, communicate, and obtain assistance for challenges to completing assigned activities per the schedule.
•Self starter, consistent, milestone and goal driven based on established priorities.
•Capable of complying with, and enforcing, procedural requirements with high standards and quality work.
•Maintain US NRC nuclear fitness for duty qualification.
•Attain/maintain a US government L-Level or Q-Level security clearance (based on assigned responsibilities).
•Urenco Core Values (Safety, Integrity, Flexibility, Development and Profitability) as they apply at the Middle Manager level.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong interpersonal skills with NEF personnel and outside vendors and contractor personnel.
•Ability to direct and provide working conditions under pressure to meet critical deadlines, yet remain flexible in responding to changing requirements.

Education / Experience Requirements:
Education:
A Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering and five (5) years related experience in field construction at a Nuclear facility. Twelve (12) years of relevant experience in a field construction leadership role in at least two (2) diverse fields may be substituted for a Bachelor degree or the Nuclear facility experience.

Physical Requirements:
Typically, the employee will be providing oversight in field at various times of the day. The remaining time the employee may sit comfortably to perform administrative functions for the position. There will be walking; climbing; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Capable of working overtime as needed for project support.
