Job description
The Senior Buyer is responsible for a variety of buying, contract administration, and materials management activities to ensure flexible and fast response to customer needs. The primary duties for the Fuels Senior Buyer will be to support the Fleet as the sourcing resource for all the technical components for the Fuels group. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for sourcing of control rod blades sourcing, fuel and fabrication services, fuel inspection and other component purchases relating to fuels. The Senior Buyer negotiates and executes contracts and purchases in accordance with Constellation Supply Chain Standards, and processes and works on complex issues and development strategies for large budgets. Additional responsibilities include building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers, focusing on cost savings, supplier diversity, and assuring on-time delivery of quality parts and services. The Senior Buyer develops a deep understanding of market commodities, demonstrates fully developed negotiation skills, and implements a procurement strategy that impacts assigned categories.
