Job description
Exelon is currently looking for an Emergency Preparedness Manager at our nuclear corporate offices, in Kennett Square, PA.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Accountable for the governance and oversight of the implementation and maintenance of the Emergency Plans for the Exelon Nuclear Generating Stations within the region. Reports to the Director of Emergency Preparedness.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintain an effective Emergency Plan for the protection of the public and then environment and in accordance with existing regulatory requirements.

Provide regulatory interface with State and Federal regulators at the regional level to manage regulatory policy and compliance issues.

Schedule and monitor regulatory required drills/exercises.

Manage the Emergency Preparedness Staff to maximize the function of the Emergency Plan within reasonable cost effective parameters.

Review operating and financial reports to ensure compliance with business plans and budget requirements. Implement actions through staff/stations to ensure compliance with appropriate business plans, budgets.

Maintain liaison with local emergency response personnel who support station programs.

Ensure consistency between Sites in the development and implementation of standardized processes, programs, procedures and practices. Develop and implement practices that allow for transfer of knowledge and lessons learned between sites. Coordinates activities, initiative planning and implementation schedules between sites. Drive continuous improvement with a focus on value achieved at the sites.

Description of ideal candidate
Minimum
Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Technical Field
10 years combined experience in emergency preparedness, Operations, Regulatory Assurance or Radiation Protection with 5 years equivalent emergency response experience gained through station or related agencies
OR
High School Diploma
12 years combined experience in emergency preparedness, Operations or Radiation Protection
5 years Supervisory experience
5 years equivalent emergency response experience gained through related agencies
OR
Associates Degree
10 Years combined experience in emergency preparedness, Operations or Radiation Protection.
5 years Supervisory experience
5 years equivalent emergency response experience gained through related agencies
Successful completion of core supervisory/management training and development programs

Preferred
SRO or Certification
