Job description

The Fort Mill, South Carolina office is currently accepting resumes for Piping / Stress Engineers of all levels. This vacancy is associated with upcoming work, with an expected start date of September 2008. We are currently recruiting for various levels of experience, including the following:

Description of ideal candidate
Consulting Engineer II -
Basic Qualifications:
•        Candidate should have 7 years of experience in the stress analysis of ASME Div 1 systems and have demonstrated experience in ASME III and ASME B31.1 codes related to piping analysis.
•        Candidate should be capable of preparing analysis on one of the following systems: Caesar II, Autopipe, ADLPIPE, STADD, STRUDL.
•        Must have 7 years of current supervision experience, capable of instructing and reviewing the work of others.
•        Experience performing pipe stress calculations for nuclear power plants: Safety Related Piping, Main Stream, Boiler Feedwater, Hot and Cold Reheat Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
•        Experience with PIPSYS computer program
•        PE license preferred

Consulting Engineer I -
Basic Qualifications:
•        Candidate should have 5 years of experience in the stress analysis of ASME Div 1 systems and have demonstrated experience in ASME III and ASME B31.1 codes related to piping analysis.
•        Candidate should be capable of preparing analysis on one of the following systems: Caesar II, Autopipe, ADLPIPE, STADD, STRUDL.
•        Must have 5 years of current supervision experience, capable of instructing and reviewing the work of others.
•        Experience performing pipe stress calculations for nuclear power plants: Safety Related Piping, Main Stream, Boiler Feedwater, Hot and Cold Reheat Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
•        PE license preferred

Engineer V (stress)-
Basic Qualifications:
•        Must be a self motivated, Mechanical Pipe Stress Engineer with extensive design experience in a wide range of mechanical design subjects including pipe stress
•        Experience performing pipe stress calculations for nuclear power plants safety related piping
•        Must be capable of instructing and reviewing the work of others
•        Good communication skills required as interface with the customer will be needed in explaining design issues and their resolutions
•        Experience performing plant modifications for nuclear power plants is required
•        Must be skilled in the areas of pipe stress analysis, pipe support design, structural frame analysis
•        Must have nuclear experience
•        Experience using Ceasar II, Pelican Forge, STADD, STRUDL software

Preferred Qualifications:
•        Experience with PIPSYS computer program
•        PE license preferred

Engineer IV –
Basic Qualifications:
•        Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
•        7+ years of experience in designing pipe supports and performing computerized design verification analysis using any of the versions of STRUDL computer programs currently used in the US Nuclear Industry
•        Knowledge of ASME III (NF), N690, AISC, MSSP codes and standards is essential

Additional Qualifications:
•        Prior experienced knowledge of NRC Regulatory Positions related to nuclear pipe support design engineering is preferred.


Engineer III -
Basic Qualifications:
• Pipe Support Design using International or US Pipe Support Supplier Components.
• Designing Pipe Supports in the 3D – Cad Environment using Pelican Forge Support Modeler.
• Structural Analysis for Qualification of Supports Using ASME III NF Criteria or AISC Criteria.
• Able to use the following programs: STRUDL, ANSYS, ABAQUS, and Microstation.

Preferred Qualifications:
PE license preferred

Engineer II –
Basic Qualifications:
•        Must be self motivated and willing to learn pipe stress analysis for new and existing power plants
•        Good communications skills are required as interface with other project discipline personnel to coordinate piping design
•        Must have skills in FEA analysis and Mechanics of Materials

Additional Qualifications:
•        Pipe stress analysis experience for nuclear power plant safety related piping is preferred
•        Other engineering experience or pipe support design experience is a plus
•        Experience performing plant modifications for nuclear power plants is desirable
