Job description
Execute duties as the health and safety representative in the field on decontamination and decommissioing (D&O) project. This position has a heavy field presence integrated with the field operations and crew.

Perform oversight of waste management in support of shipping activities relative to ES&H requirements.

Perform first-aid treatment. Assisting in accident investigations, OSHA/DOE/NRC/state compliance audits, project health surveys, and insurance audits.

Recommending to supervisor that notices of non-compliance be issued.

Preparing project safety and health reports as required by the ES&H program.

Description of ideal candidate
3-5 years practical, field experience in waste management, heavy equipment operations, and/or construction/remediation activities.

3-5 years field experience in radioactive and hazardous waste management associated with environmental field operations.

Experience in general construction safety and industrial hygiene, including a working knowledge of OSHA.

Experience working on DOE radiological and/or hazardous waste sites is preferred.

This position requires knowledge of safety and health functions and government safety and health standards/programs including OSHA, DOE, NRC, and EPA.

Must be able to work in PPE including respiratory protection.

AS degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Must be able to obtain a DOE badge.
