Job description
Title Line: Tired of the Outage grind? Finding it hard to survive on two or three outages a year? We are offering long term employment and a very competitive compensation package.

Cabrera Services has immediate openings for Health Physics Technicians and Health/Safety Technicians at the West Valley Demonstration Project in upstate New York. All candidates should be aware that this is a challenging site with many high hazard/high contamination areas. In order to get the work done safely and efficiently we are attempting to recruit a team of intelligent, highly motivated individuals interested in a challenging long term assignment. Our goal is to attain a mixture of highly qualified senior technicians that are willing to take on a challenging project.

The primary work at WVES involves providing radiological support for decommissioning of existing high hazard facilities. This work will require the candidate to wear a respirator or bubble suit on a fairly regular basis. A respirator usage premium of will be paid for time spent wearing respiratory protection. Individuals need to be familiar with conducting high hazard job coverage, application of engineering controls, MARSSIM implementation, and must be familiar with mitigating radiological and physical hazards typically associated with the D&D process.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years relevant experience working at DOE, DOD, NRC facilities.
Previous DOE facility experience preferred, but not required. Technicians with previous high rad/high contamination job coverage experience are desired. Highly motivated individuals with a combination of experience and applicable education will also be strongly considered. NRRPT certification preferred but not required.

CERTIFICATION: 40 Hour HAZWOPER, must be able to pass the DOE CORE test (training will be provided).

MEDICAL: Must pass OSHA physical and be able to be qualified to wear a respirator. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and climb steps/ladders.

BACKGROUND CHECK: Must be able to pass a background check/reference check and 9 panel drug screen.
