About the OpportunityProvide policies, practices and strategies to Davis Besse, Perry, and Beaver Valley nuclear plant engineering that will improve reliability, availability and safety in the area of turbine-generator, reactor feed pump turbines, exciter and associated systems at each plant.Be involved, knowledgeable and continuously current with industry best practices. Instill continuous improvement at all of the FENOC plants and utilize industry best practices to achieve goals.Provide leadership in the creation of uniform, common procedures, best practices and processes that will be used at each plant to achieve lower cost, increased safety, and superior operation of all of the FENOC plants.Provide leadership, policy, and procedures to the plant engineering staff that are uniform, consistent, and result in common best practices at each plant.Introduce these best practices at each plant and champion the utilization of them in day to day routines by plant engineering.Interact with plant engineering personnel providing expert assistance, advice, and recommendations for planned and unplanned equipment maintenance.Provide expert technical assistance to plant engineering on a call out basis for unplanned outages involving the turbine generator equipment as noted above.Provide proactive recommendations to plant engineering on long term maintenance and technology improvements.Provide plant engineering with alternative technical and lowest cost solutions for current and future equipment operation and maintenance.This position will require travel to each of the nuclear plants on a regular basis to interact with the plant staff, but will be headquartered in Akron.
About the CompanyBS in mechanical engineering with at least eight years of experience inspecting, servicing and maintaining turbine generators, reactor feed pump turbines, EHC control systems, and associated subsystems at nuclear or fossil plants.Experience at a FENOC plant or on nuclear power plant prime movers is a plus.Experience developing procedures for equipment maintenance and implementation of repair procedures/processes will be a plus.Ability to interact with plant engineering staff at each of the FENOC plants utilizing all communication tools and direct presentations will be a requirement.The final determination of job title and market rate will be based on specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.
