Vermont's share of electricity produced by nuclear is 80 percent and all of
that power comes from a 496-megawatt plant in Vernon on the western shore of the
Connecticut River. Roughly 4 percent of the electricity produced at Vernon
crosses the river at Hinsdale and is used in New Hampshire; those 25 megawatts
are what Public Service of New Hampshire is entitled to by virtue of its 4
percent stake in Vermont Yankee.
