Smolensk

  Smolensk NPP has three operational units with RBMK-1000 type reactors. The initial design called for the construction of two stages. Each stage would have to include two power units with common auxiliary buildings and systems. However the construction of Unit 4 was stopped in 1986 and the second stage remained incomplete.
