Clinton Nuclear Power Plant

  The Clinton Exelon Nuclear Power Plant in Clinton, Ill., is shown on Saturday, Nov. 23, 1996. A mechanical failure forced the shutdown of the reactor on Sept. 5, 1996. Since the accident and a refueling of the reactor, the plant has been offline over 80 days, with no plans to bring it back online before the end of the year.
