Taking an Exam
Main Question Screen
This is the initial question
screen. As the program is
started, this screen allows
you to select the number of
questions to be generated
for the test. Along with
the Questions screen
shown on Page 7, these are
your main question screens.
Immediately after you
generate a new test, the
next screen you will see is
a browse screen with the
exam statistics (this is
like the score control
center). From here you can
select a question to
answer. From this
combination browse box and
form, you can also tell
which exam questions in the
test have been answered, or
not. These screens are your
entry points to the exam
questions.
COREEXAM Question Screen
This screen displays the
question, category, and
possible answers. To
answer the question,
click on one of the
letter responses or on
the answer itself. If
you answer correctly,
the answer will move to
the left, and the
question and answer will
change to green. If you
answer incorrectly, the
question will turn red,
your answer will be
dimmed (excluded from
further choice), and the
number of guesses you
made on this question
increases by 1. As you
move the cursor around
the screen you will see
buttons appear from
words on the screen.
The VCR buttons at the top
of the screen will let you
move between questions (as
will the Next and Previous
buttons at the bottom.
To go back to the Main
Question Screen, click OK .
To change to a fixed font,
check the fixed font box.
To see the answer, an
explanation, and reference
information, click the tab
at the top of the form.
If a question refers to a
diagram, click on the
DIAGRAMS
button.
If you decide you want HELP
for the question, click on
the Explanation and
References Screen tab at
the top of the form under
the VCR menu.

Browse the Category
This next screen shows you
the category file in its
relationship to the exam
file. You get to this
screen by clicking on the
Browse Categories
selection under the
File
Menu.
This screen will tell you
what categories were used to
generate your random exam or
you can use it to enable the
program to select exam
questions from the
categories you select.
In order to enable a
category, scroll down the
list to highlight the
category, then click on the
View or Update Category: 1
(for category 1, other
categories will be listed
here as you scroll down the
browse box) button, Click on
Selection from the next
form. The number of Exam
Questions is shown for
each category.
COREEXAM Total Question
Browse
This screen lists all of
the questions in the
COREEXAM database. To
get to this screen,
select Browse
Questions under the
File
Menu. When you first
select the screen, the
questions are in
question number order.
To change the order,
click on one of the tabs
at the top of the browse
box, give it a couple of
minutes for a sort,
there s a 1000 questions
to go through.
Allowed sorts are question
number, question category
(by Cat No.), by Question
Words (the first words of
each question are used as
the foundation for this
sort), or by Question
Selection (you can select
questions with key words
that you select).
