Richard (Dick) DeLong

It is with great sadness that I must inform all about Dick DeLong.  He fought the good fight against cancer, but passed on Friday 11/2/07.  He was a great friend and co-worker.  He will be missed by family and friends alike.

The world just became a slightly smaller place without him in it.  Dick was the best supervisor I ever had.

BZ, I know he was at Fermi for many years in both RP and System Engineering. I also believe that he was he was part of fossil generation for DTE as well. I e-mailed you some info.

I know who is is. I thought he was a great guy. Last time I saw him was about 12 years ago, maybe a bit longer, we were walking down the Steam Tunnel at Fermi for Housekeeping hits. I thought it darn cool a guy in his position was in PCs doing a housekeeping walkdown.

Thank You PW Hoppe.

Dick Delong was the best boss I've ever had.  When you were in trouble, he stuck up for you.  When you needed help, he was there.  He always knew how to get the best out of everyone.  I'll sorely miss him, but know that he lives on in everyone he ever met.

Yes Dick was a great guy and boss as well.  Loved his kids and would do anything for them.  I remember when he started at Fermi as an assessor or some such nonesense.  We could see then he was a leader and would one day take command of the department.  Very sad we lost him, but I'm sure he is in a better place.
