Where are the best places to work?
« on: Aug 27, 2007, 03:39 »
Hello,

I am a recently separated EMC/SS with 8 years in the navy.
I decided to get out at my EAOS despite making chief. I wanted to move on from the navy and see what the outside world has to offer.

I was wondering if anybody has heard of unique opportunities for ex-navy nukes.  I know that I am posting on nukeworker.com but I was looking for areas or industries that are not the typical stops for nukes getting out.
I  want a company that both challenges me and provide a place where I can grow. I am expecting an average salary but care more about performance based bonuses and great benefits.

If any one has any ideas/suggestions/rumors please help me out.

Mike, here's a funny question for you; how do I find the new search engine?  I've searched for it but I can't find it.  Right now, the only way I can find it is to type in the URL or go to Rennhack's post on Aug 23.  I can't help to see the humor/irony in the fact that I searching for the search engine.  :)

On the site front page (click on the Home tab at the top of the page) there is a 'New Search Function' comment on the right. The is a somewhat hidden link (because it is blue on blue) just above where it says 'continue reading.' If you move your mouse over the link it will become a hand pointing at the link. Click when the hand appears. You should go right to the search page.

But we do need a more obvious link somehere...

I've posted this several times.  I'm sorry that it isn't obvious to you.

At the VERY top of every page on the entire web site, there is a link labled "search".  Click on it.

Also, at the bottom of EVERY page on the web site, there is a search box.

TOP and BOTOM.

At the middle of some pages, there are also search boxes or links, for specific search functions for that specific part of the site.

So, TOP, BOTTOM, and MIDDLE of the page.

I really can't think of more places to put search functions.

Here is another link

Wow, what a "timely" reply.  Glad I wasn't looking for food and water.  If I were looking for your help to find water, then I'd show up on the "Fallen" section of the Forum.

Yes, I understand you've posted it several times, but no need to apologize many other people on the site have since helped and I think I've located all seach buttons on the website now.  :)

:-\  Oh son of a..... here we go again about that whole search thingy.  Cant we just give it a rest and go on with our lives. ???  Just a little friendly advise, go commercial, stay away from DOE unless you like the beurocricy.  At least in commercial you will earn what your worth.  Im sorry I so down on DOE sites I just had a bad experiance there.   :(

heheheheheheheh,...
Try USACE,....
actually, that's a good start. Working as a federal employee is sweet, the money isn't top shelf, but it ain't bad, the expectations are reasonable and the bennies are great (liveing in my house doesn't suck either). there is a web site for federal jobs, you can do a search by job series (PM me if you want more guidance in using it). Each job posting will tell you what the qualifications are for that job. Again, if you're interested, PM me and I can give you more help.
