Number of Roadtechs in the business?
« on: Sep 05, 2007, 09:49 »
Hey folks,

I was wondering, just how many of us are in the Roadtech world?  I've heard numbers ranging from 485 all the way to 1000.  Hit me back, let me know what's up?

I have heard recently that there are somewhere in the nieghborhood of 800 - 1000. That is about 1/3 what there was in the early 90's. I am sure someone has more accurate numbers but this is probably not far off. We are a rare breed for sure.

Based on my experience that represents 7 x .1 people and I think I have worked with most of them.

But back to the first question, lets take a scientific approach. Everybody sound off...

there are about 3000 at any one time down from 4900 of the late 80s  on the road at any time- around 1000

if u are talking about people that are temps- no benefits, no job in 5 weeks, use unemployment as a means to survive-- 400-600
