Wolf Creek lodging is dirt cheap and easy to find in Burlington. The best restaurant in town is the site cafeteria. Contact Coffey County Housing authority, also Burlington Development. The nicest apartment house in town is a 2 1/2 story building with 10 units. 2 BR apt with A/C less than $300/mo. Best thing about Burlington is the free rec. center, probably one of the best anywhere.

THE bank in town is across from the Post Office, and they do have motor vehicle support in town (plates/license).

If you want a life, go to Emporia (45 min), or Topeka (1 hr). The airport at Kansas City is a solid 2-hr drive from the plant.

Nearby Burlington is mostly a poor town. The 2 places to look for are Burlington Development, and Coffey County Housing Authority. The small town newspaper has ads but they basically point to those 2 places. Sometimes you can find a share in a house, but they are rare.

There is one decent apartment building in town with 10 units. Dirt cheap. Most everything else is a trailer home, which is a bad idea in springtime Kansas. Make sure it has a storm cellar nearby. You can try Lloyd Sleezer, he sometimes has trailers available, 316-364-2791.

Is you want a real life, and a much longer commute, there are Emporia and Topeka, 45 to 60 min drive.

Burlington has a wonderful free Rec Center built by Wolf Creek money. Nice big community pool. Other than that, and a small movie theatre, not much there. Only chain is Pizza Hut.

Burlington is a solid 2 hours to Kansas City airport.

If you want to get a peek before you go out there, try the Yellow pages on the Internet for apartments/motels. There are a few cheap motels in town, but the only decent newer one is expensive. There is a cheap efficiency unit at the very south end of town.

Wolf Creek is like a small town on site; probably the best restaurant in town is on site, they have great postal and medical facilities.

When I was there I stayed at a place called Universal Inn in Lebo, about halfway between Burlington and Emporia, right off the highway. This motel is actually a prefab building, like an assembly of doublewide trailers, don't know how well it'd do if there were a tornado. The room was okay, clean enough, weekly rate was reasonable.

There was a filthy little kitchenette for the guests to use, if you stay there try not to get a room right next to the communal kitchen. Anytime someone tries to cook something in there it really stinks the place up. :P

There was a small truckstop and diner right next door, not much else. I think there was a small bar in Lebo also.

Emporia is the place to go for a night out. Small college town.  ;)
