About 10 miles south of the plant is a quiet little trailer park. Nothing fancy, but not bad for working 6 12's and crashing. Quite reasonable. The guy's name is Ed Deen. He's honest and understands when the outage is over it's over.
He won't do business on Sunday, so plan ahead.

anyone have any info or preferences on where to stay in the area ?
Lake Tara outside of town. I think it was around 50 bucks a month in '88 for the RV. Kind of an RV/mobile home park. There also used to be a place in town called Granny's Boarding house...I'm serious as a heart attack here...Granny's Boarding house! And she didn't take no crap, either.

Seriously Viking man, jist get on down there and start root hogging around....it ain't New York City!!! You can see the whole town by lunch time.

All the Farley company guys that come in to work the hatch outage stay at the Inn of Vidalia.  Shoneys Restaurant & the awesome Onion City Lounge & nightlife right at the motel.  Call then at 912-537-1282 & tell them you are working the outage for a good weekly rate..Also when you hit the Lounge for a cold one..Be sure & tell Miss Denise at the Bar that Dale sent you to them...

Hi from Hazlehurst. Just a quick note to reply to some things. Granny's in Baxley is no longer there. It has been torn down and other buildings are now there.

Also I am manager at McDonalds Lodge, a local hotel in Hazlehurst, which is only 25 minutes from the plant, and would like to tell you what we will be offering this year and every year after. First our rate is $210.00 per week but we offer many ammenities to compensate for the rate. Our motel has interior corridors with nice clean rooms. We will be offering breakfast two times a day for the plant workers. That does consist of cereals, oatmeals, grits, boiled eggs, sausage biscuits, honey buns, muffins, fresh fruit, toast, cheese, bagels, cream cheese, orange and apple juice, coffee, and milk. In our rooms we have mini fridges and microwaves, color tvs, and wireless internet. We are also offering free and I did say free long distance within the US. You can call your family anytime for any length of time and it will not cost you a thing. We also offer free fax and copy services. If you think of anything else that you may need and we do not offer, let me know and we will see what we can work out. So please give us a call. Our numbers are 912-379-1770 or 1-888-844-8207. Ask for Karen, if I am not there leave me a message and I will return your call no later than the next business day. Hope to see you there.

I would like to get our hotel information out to more people coming in for the outage. Can any of you guys tell me who to contact with the plant so that I can get our info out to more people? When I call the plant I get the run around about who to talk to. Thanks.

Does anyone have any recent lodging news?  Even if there are no new locations (which would be difficult to believe over the 2 year period since the last post), maybe...just maybe...the rental amounts have changed...yes?

Be careful with the Days Inn in Alma, GA. It is a good hotel. It is clean and safe. It adds an extra 30min to your commute to Hatch.  :)
The special rates are for only one or two rooms. And you didn't get either of the special rooms. Sorry, you pay the full rates. :o

The on site management is accommodating and pleasant.  +K The non-special billed rates are non-negotiable (you don't find out until you check-out). -K

Have a great outage,

New owners at Grand Suites in Vidalia.  They just renovated 6 of the 8 apartments. Here is a website but, don't think it's fully implemented grandsuitesvidalia.com

They are building a bar/patio in the back.  https://home.cozy.co/app/#!/profile/3115165
