mixed security forces :contract/inhouse ?
« on: Dec 08, 2007, 10:10 »
Looking for some numbers. How many Nuclear security forces are there were all officers have the same quals, & do the same jobs, but some are employeed by the company and others are contracted. Most I know of are one or the other.

  Thanks

I believe most Plants are one or the other. Im currently not an NSO but am awaiting a start date with Dominion. Their North Anna and Surry Plants are in-house but their Millstone Plant is Contracted with Securitas I believe.

We are Securitas, but we are also in the process of going In  house. We will also have some contract after the Inhouse hiring is finished.

After the sleeping guards situation from Peach Bottom, Exelon went from using Wackenhut (g4s) to ExelonNuclearSecurity.com and became "in-house" security.  The sites that contract out still have security supervision that are in house that manages the contractors.
