Proposed Idaho plants

Does anyone have information on the two proposed plants for Idaho?  In particular who may be hiring and when for either?

I've been watching Mid American's website on the Carriers section, but I have no idea if they will be posting there or if they are forming a subsidiary to build the plant.

Any idea on the viability of Alternative Energy Holdings?  I have quite a bit more confidence in Mid American succeeding; I'm a little more skeptical of a Alternative energy holdings since they don't yet (that I know of) have any deep pockets to back it up.

The only info I know of is on the NRC website, this should be a good place to start.

I don't know much about the Mid American plant except that it is near Weiser.  The website for the Alternate Energy Holdings is http://www.idahoenergycomplex.com/

Thanks for the input both of you.  I'm really pumped on the idea since those in Texas and the Southwest have been getting all the fun of the new plant announcements.  The Pacific Northwest has 6 GW of new natural gas turbines that are ripe for displacement by new nukes.  I'm hoping Mid American makes a killing on their plant while shuttering some of the natural gas plants.  Then they'll consider tacking on several more ASAP.

That area makes a lot of sense.  There is more room near the river to build a plant around Weiser.  I wonder what the MPF from a upstream dam failure is?  That could lead them to put the plant up near the foothills and pump water up to it.

Mid American's press release says Payette county but Weiser (or anywhere nearby) is in Washington county.  That could have just been a rough idea for the first round of the press release.

Thanks.  I wonder how they are doing on their funding.

Whoops, looks like my pessimism on Alternative Energy Holdings is unwarranted:
