Just a few questions

First I would like to thank all the men and women who help make this forum what it is!

I am currently and automotive service manager and would like to get my foot in the door to the power industry. I would like to be an operator at some point but will take anything just get in with the company. My question is If I were to get hired on say as a fleet mechanic would I be able to transfer to operations or start the process for training. If so How hard is to cross over.. Thanks again for your replay and time.

I do have a test date for the cast test

I don't know about all companies, but with the large utilities where I have worked, it is policy to offer internal prior to external candidates.

I agree that most companies try to hire from within first, but you will need to successfully score on the test (POSS Test) in order to qualify to become an operator.
