Job Fair
« on: Jul 23, 2008, 09:34 »
I just attended a job fair in Groton, CT today.  It was my first ever job fair.  FPL, Entergy, and Dominion were there.  Ironically, the guy that did my interview at Millstone was there along with the HR rep.  They had not contacted me since I took the POSS and went to a second interview last Monday.  They said they would be contacting me soon.  I was very impressed by the Entergy reps.  They had guys from three different sites.  The Vermont Yankee rep offered to interview me on the spot.  He said his HR department would be contacting me.  They called my house before I even got home.  I talked to probably a dozen companies, including ESPN.  I'd say I got hard looks and genuine interest in my resume from at least eight of the companies.  Other types of companies represented were railroad, defense support, and utility maintenance companies.  All the nuclear companies were looking for NLO and maintenance guys.

Nice! I liked the Vermont Yankee folks that came to our TAPs in NY. Very professional and told it like it is. Good luck!
