Dade Moeller & Associates Announces New Vice President for Business Development

RICHLAND, Wash. — Dade Moeller & Associates, Inc. announced that Sean M. Austin has been named Vice President for Business Development. Specifically, Austin will lead the Commercial & Institutional Business Development Sector.

In his new role, Austin will lead the Company’s efforts to identify new business opportunities with a variety of customers who are subject to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission or agreement state requirements because their activities involve regulated radioactive materials or technologically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive materials (TENORM). Austin also will lead business development activities aimed at increasing awareness and growth of the Company’s training program offerings, particularly those provided through its Radiation Safety Academy Division based in Gaithersburg, Md.

“We are proud to recognize the significant contributions that Sean has made in developing business for Dade Moeller & Associates,” stated President and Chief Executive Officer Matthew P. Moeller. “We look forward to the new opportunities he will bring about as we continue to grow as a company.”
Austin, a Certified Health Physicist (CHP; radiation protection scientist), has served as a consultant, instructor, curriculum developer, and Radiation Safety Officer at the Radiation Safety Academy for the past seven years. Specializing in U.S. Department of Transportation and Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for shipping and receiving radioactive material, he has provided technical radiation safety consulting services to various commercial and federal government clients, specifically in the area of licensing, auditing, decommissioning, and serving as temporary Radiation Safety Officer. Prior to joining Radiation Safety Academy, he was Chief of the Radioactive Materials Control Section in the National Institutes of Health, Radiation Safety Branch, where he was responsible for oversight of the program to manage the acquisition, inventory, and disposal of radioactive materials for approximately 3,000 research laboratories.

Headquartered in Richland, Dade Moeller & Associates is a nationally recognized professional consulting firm that specializes in radiological and nuclear safety, public and environmental health protection, occupational safety and health, and radiation and safety training. The company has offices in 10 states and employs more Certified Health Physicists than any other private company in the United States. Dade Moeller & Associates acquired the Radiation Safety Academy in June 2007.
