Dade Moeller & Associates Employee
Selected as U.S. Delegate to International Radiation Protection Congress

RICHLAND, Wash. – Today, Dade Moeller & Associates, Inc. (www.moellerinc.com), announced that senior professional Edward F. Maher is representing the United States Health Physics Society as a delegate to the 12th International Congress of the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA), which runs through Friday, October 24, 2008, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Maher has a Doctor of Science degree from Harvard University and is a Certified Health Physicist.

“The standards that IRPA promulgates at these Congresses influence health physics activities around the globe,” said Dade Moeller & Associates President and CEO, Matthew P. Moeller. “We are proud to have Ed representing our nation in this important field, and we look forward to benefitting on a corporate level from his first-hand knowledge and insight.”

Maher has more than 30 years of experience conducting and managing radiological, safety, and environmental protection programs applicable to commercial nuclear entities and Federal agencies such as the U.S. Departments of Energy and Defense. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel with extensive experience in designing, developing, and implementing nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare defense strategies. He manages the Dade Moeller & Associates Boston-area office and is an adjunct faculty member at Harvard University.

Maher was nominated by the New England Chapter of the Health Physics Society to serve on the delegation and then was selected from a field of nominees by the Health Physics Society Board of Directors. This will be Maher’s second IRPA Congress; he also served on the U.S. delegation in Madrid, Spain, in 2004.
