I've searched the forums and haven't found anything that fits my situation.  I am currently getting ready to graduate from a tech school and have started hearing back from employers regarding interviews and testing.  A couple of these are nuke facilities and require either an unescorted access or L clearance.  My problem lies in my military discharge.  I was discharged in 2003 for popping positive for pot in the air force and received a general under honorable discharge.  How bad does this kill my chances of making into the nuke world?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

commercial power no problem

L- just tell the truth. they will give you the third degree and may request that you take a lie detector test. be honest. you are not the first who has skeletons in the closet.

Well I graduated last December and have spent the last year working in wind energy (graduating in a recession has made the process of getting work I wanted much more difficult).  But this question has new relevance as I interview for a DOE job that requires a Q clearance next week.  I am completely comfortable being honest about this, and some other small problems I had the year after I was discharged, but am still nervous.  My total problems are as follows:

1. General under Honorable discharge for failing a drug test for pot.- Sept of 2003 discharge date
2. Underage Drinking-January of 2004
3. Unlawful Entry-July 2004
4. Driving without insurance -Maybe early 2005-can't remember now.

I have a good job but really want to be in the nuclear world, is it worth the risk?
