Getting in as a Valve Tech
« on: Mar 01, 2009, 09:09 »
I just completed my 40hr. Valve Repair Tech class. I was told having the certificate of completion was good enough to get me into the door, since most times it takes 6-8 weeks for EPRI to get test scores back. My goal is to start working outages then eventually get in-house.  I just don't know what to do next. Do I call the individual nuke, or the local unions that have jurisdiction over the nuke, or submit resume to individual companies. I have been a long time union member and have not had to apply for a job in years, this next basic step has me confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Start with cbguy's list...esp. Atlantic & Crane.

If you still are looking after that, send Teledyne a resume.

We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner! I can’t think what anybody sees in them.      - B. Baggins
