The Howard Johnson Harrisburg is about 10 minutes from TMI.  We have provided accommodations for many workers during previous outages.  All rooms will have microwaves/refrigerators.  Special rates by calling 717-564-6300.  Ask for TMI Shutdown rates.  More information about our hotel available on our website, www.harrisburghotels.com.

Candlewood Suites Harrisburg is brand new and will be opening their doors in September. I am the Director of Sales for a different Candlewood but I have arranged for great rates for all those coming in to TMI. They have fully equipped kitchens in every room with full size refrigerators in addition to free use of the laundry facilities. They have set up rates for a room with a queen bed of $49.99 per night and for double beds just $64.99
Those are unbelievable rates for a place that has everything they have to offer. Here are the different ways you can book.
book on line with this link: http://www.ihg.com/redirect?path=rates&brandCode=CW&hotelCode=MDTLM&_corpId=100191831&_rateCode=ILSHV
Call 1-800-Candlewood Ask for the TMI Exelon rate

If you have any problems you can call the DOS for that hotel on her cell: (717) 579-0728 or her email at janet.rozzi@dellisart.com or they you can contact the manager Aimee on her cell at : (215) 609-7863 or her email at: aimee.burgunder@dellisart.com
I'm confident they will take good care of you!

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g52787-d96466-Reviews-Howard_Johnson_Inn_Harrisburg-Harrisburg_Pennsylvania.html

It is rated 41st out of 50 hotels in Harrisburg.
It averages 3 out of 5 stars.

Last review was yesterday: We had three rooms booked for four moms and six kids. We were going to spend Saturday at Hershey Park and then spend the night. When we booked, we were told there was an indoor pool. When we called to confirm a few days before, we found out there was no pool. Not a big deal really. We arrived at the hotel at about 9:30 p.m. - tired and very cold from a long day at the park. Checkin went well. We drove to Building E where our rooms were. The three rooms were on the second floor. No elevator but again not a big deal. When we got into our room, we turned on the heat. Awful smell came out of the heater and then a few minutes later, smoke alarms go off. Turned off the heat and called front desk. They came with a new set of keys and we moved to another room. It was suggested that we not turn on the heat in any of the rooms. Television remote had no batteries. Some lights in each room didn't work. Everything was dirty. Bedspread was so disgusting that we took it off the bed. Cheerios on the floor. Bathroom old and not clean. Would not recommend this chain especially when there were so many other hotels along the same road.

Most reviews were bad unless you went for the car show, lol, they loved it.
