I&C Technician Positions
« on: Jun 29, 2010, 10:58 »
Does anyone know of any, and I mean ANY I&C Tech positions, or Electrical Main. positions, or am I just dreaming?

Also, to explain where I'm coming from. I've been striving to be a nuke for a while, however, the area in which I live relies heavily on the coal it's built on. Therefore, all the plants in the area (and there are several) are coal fired. The area is dead and severely economically depressed. It's been one hell of a fight trying to get out of here, but it just seems that with the economy in shambles and every baby boomer scratching back every penny they lost in a 401K (I firmly believe that if you haven't made the money by now, you never will.), no open positions, unless you're an executive or desk jockey.

I'm not looking for a handout, just a little help. Thanks.

Drew

Things are tight in I&C at my utility now.  Not only do we have a hiring freeze on, we stopped hiring contractors for the past 2 outages and have covered everything with 'shared resources'.  I would doubt whether things will break open again until some of our plants get license extensions.

You should contact all of the I&C contractor firms (Givoo? Sun? ...?).  Maybe they have something available at an outage this fall.

Good Luck!

We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner! I can’t think what anybody sees in them.      - B. Baggins

Diablo has an outage this fall, too..

From the outage intranet website:

All interested external applicants may submit resumes to our external email address:
 DCPPOH@pge.com

805-545-HIRE (4473)
Callers may leave a message.

I'm not sure what their status is as far as staffing, you'll have to give them a call.

Thank you, this info is fantastic.

Obviously I'm new to the site, but I can already see that I get more information here than trolling on the internet job boards and company sites.
