As I told the guy at the counter " 4th of July is like Cinco De Mayo, only for 'mericans!"

I then purchased a sling adapter and some more magazine pouches and a sling.   :P

I'm at work. But I don't resent it. It's great to have a job.
Did anyone see the article on the rough draft of the Declaration of Independence? Jefferson had to scratch out "subjects' and write in "citizens". Interesting.
My family, and me, took a fantastic side trip on the way to D.C. one year. We stopped by Appomattox then spent the night at Charlottesville Va,. Went to Ash Lawn,Montichello, and Mont Pelliar after lunch at Miches tavern. If you have not been to any of these places, including D.C.,you should go.
Happy fourth. How fortunate we are to live here.

Standing my last duty day on a ship. Unless I really screw up as an instructor.

I remember a duty day I had during the refueling of my CVN on July 4th of 2002....

I was on the flight deck seemingly by myself watching one of the best fireworks shows I ever saw.....

I'll never forget it.

It wasn't my last duty day on a ship, but certainly one of my most memorable.

Was at Fort Campbell for 6 years as Dependent. All my Friends Dads were 101st. Fireworks were accompanied by Artillery during 1812 Oveture!! Cool, Heres real 101st and Band of Brothers!!!  LYRICS: He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright. He checked off his equipment and made sure his pack was tight. He had to sit and listen to those awful engines roar. You ain't gonna jump no more. Chorus: Gory, gory, what a hell of way to die.
