I have been applying for Designer positions out there for almost a year... and sometimes I get a call asking if I would consider this rate/PD and when could I start.  Then nothing, the recruiters keep telling me that they are getting no information back from SRR and then finally even they just give up.  Then a few weeks or months later the job will post again and it is the same story... again.

I just wonder if they will ever fill those jobs.

Thanks

Eric

To whom it may concern, I came in SRS last September and was told I would be here at least 2 years. I was also told there would be plenty of ot. Both lies, they had a really hard time staffing this place and stood the chance of looseing the obama bucks, if they didn't. So they lied to us to get us here and then the truth finally came out! They have made embarrassing offers for employment, to get some of us to go house. Now don't get me wrong, I am a true road tech. and know when you gotta go, you gotta go! But don't lie to me and make promises you know you  won"t keep! Wait till you go to staff up again, you"re gonna have fun getting people to come to work here!!!  The perdium is weak and the house techs don"t want you to get no ot, so they cry to manangement, and we don"t get jack! My advise to all is , choose very wisely your employment places! Go anywhere, BUT FORGET THIS PLACE!!! Booth

Yea, remember who runs this place, DOE, our government. They change their mind from month to month and thats the way it is. Nothing is certain out here except for change. ::)

ARRA (taxpayer) money down the drain. House-techs sit for months and do nothing, I mean really do NOTHING. Just turn-in hours so it would look good. House-techs were not supervised, supervisors were lackadaisical. Qualified applicants are not being hired due to insecurity of the Mushrooms...and they have good reason to not bring in experienced hands.

A friend of mine was doing assessments on RWPs and surveys. The supervisors cannot fill out the RWPs correctly. The house techs cannot complete a survey correctly but the supervisors approve them anyway. SRS management has the report but refuses to act on it (it would look bad on them since the FLMs are under their cognizance). These people would not stand a chance on an INPO or NRC audit. SRNS management knows the problems but refuses to correct.
Thank God we are no longer a production facility.

You are exactly right on the money!!! Also promises were made, and now it looks like we'll all be down the road! I said it before, they are gonna have fun getting people to come back here, sure we all need to work to support our families, but after seeing and witnessing what I have, I doubt very much I'll ever come back and I will put the word out that this is not the place to work at! A bunch of lies and the house techs don't do nothing, missmanagement of funds and the wrong people are in charge. Later Good Buddy!

Obama money was meant to create jobs, they never said anything about getting work done, just create jobs. And from what I have seen it works well out here!!!!!!! :o

Please don't lump all of us into the same group. There are 308 techs here, not counting managers, some of us are capable. But I do know what you mean. I have been here aver 12 years. I do know what you mean. MH

We have a snake pit, literally. World class herp research goes on daily. Sophomoric infighting is not worth 10,000 people going home. And INPO has a presence here.
