I am posting this to inform people that Alan Stevens was found dead in his home yesterday when he failed to show up for work.  Al worked at the Callaway plant in the dosimetry office and count room.  The following is the release that plant supervision sent out:

I am very sad to tell you that Alan Stevens, Radiation Protection Technician-Tech Support, passed away this past weekend at his home in Fulton, Missouri. We have no other details at this time. Al was 51 years old.  Needless to say, this is a great shock to Al’s family and to our Callaway family. Al joined the Callaway team on Aug. 8, 1983 and quietly went about his duties in the Health Physics/Radiation Protection department, primarily in the Count Room and in Dosimetry.

Al will be greatly missed. General Supervisor Curt Smith, who worked with Al closely for many years, said: “Al was truly one of the most knowledgeable guys in his group and he will leave a big hole that we will not be able to fill.”

We do not yet know when visitation or the funeral will be held.
