Denied Access and Successful appeal

(1/1)

Irish_Wertzy:
I am currently in a denied status for my unescorted access for an SRO position.  I am planning on appealing the access determination and was curious if anyone had had a successful appeal with any nuclear provider.

I am specifically looking for information on the process and any tips on mitigating factors.

The incident in question was related to a loss of classified material that occurred 5 years ago and resulted in a General Discharge (under Honorable Conditions) from the Navy.

I was 4 days into my in-processing when I received a call from the Site background investigators.  I spoke to two of the references I had listed that knew me from back when the incident occurred.  One was asked if I left under favorable conditions from Lowes, where I worked part time.  The other one (who was my commanding officer at the time) never had an opportunity to speak to them, as when he called back, they were gone for the day.

Any thoughts or recommendations, as I am freaking out right now.

Thanks.

I will need a little more information from you. If you would like to PM me that is fine or we can keep it in here, some prefer to be more private. However, from what you have written I'm not really sure I understand. You should have received a letter from the utility stating why you were denied and how to go about the appeals process.

Pretty much will just need some more info or a clearer picture as to what went on.

Nobody here can tell you exactly what will or will not happen, as the post-denial appeal process can go a few different ways depending on what exactly happened with you.

That being said, it will be an uphill battle for you going into it.

Hope for the best, but expect the worst.
